Prayer Week Reflections: Thursday

Good Morning! I hope you slept well and have woken up refreshed to greet this day! This morning I prayed against some things. The basis of the prayers was, it is so easy to get dragged into a life and a pace of life that sociey and others set for us. To be led by other people’s expectations. Today I pray that we will use our gifts, abilities and time in the way God requires. It is sad to see the influence peer pressure can have: from gangs, sexual exploitation and living small minded to eating disorders, broken homes and homelessness…And more! It is time for that to change. I pray against those mind sets and ideas that make us vulnerable to evils and living slaves to the world’s standard. I pray that we will be built up in the Word of God. I also pray that we can help and be blessings to those already suffering the effects of these ills.

About Plantain Periodicals

Hello! Welcome to the Plantain Periodicals blogs. The name stems from the kitchen moments I had with my friends at university cooking plantain and planning our lives together. I have used this space as a window into my mind and the way I make sense of all my experiences through writing. This is where I share those conversations and moments that happen inside my head as a young woman growing up in 21st century London. Hopefully you'll be entertained and also learn a thing or two. My main blog ad: www.nissiknows.wordpress.com My literature blog: www.plantainperiodicals.wordpress.com NMx
