Prayer Week Reflections: Wednesday

Good Morning! If you are doing the prayer week also, happy third day! Yesterday I went to my cell group (a small group that meets to share life and the Bible) prayer meeting. God gave me a picture during the meeting of the people in my group and several other Christians around the world gathered in old war formations (you know when the soldiers were guarding the fort). There was too many of us to count but from far it looked like lots of huge squares of fire protecting large pieces of land. I believe that land symbolises our communities because as Christians we should be fighting against evil in our areas by showing love. We should be the light casting out the dark. Now that can come in many ways: helping the homeless, donating to food banks, randomly buying someone a coffee, helping single parents babysit…whatever it may be.

I pray that God will give us the wisdom, the discernment and courage to reach out to our communities in whatever way we can. I pray He will show us how we can (because we always can!). I also pray for community leaders. I pray that you will give them wisdom and courage. The devil can (and often does) attack by dishing out crippling fear and making us doubt what we have heard from God. I shut the voice of the devil in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!

I have put some verses about overcoming fear below. I pray you will walk in boldness, living the best life God has for you.

About Plantain Periodicals

Hello! Welcome to the Plantain Periodicals blogs. The name stems from the kitchen moments I had with my friends at university cooking plantain and planning our lives together. I have used this space as a window into my mind and the way I make sense of all my experiences through writing. This is where I share those conversations and moments that happen inside my head as a young woman growing up in 21st century London. Hopefully you'll be entertained and also learn a thing or two. My main blog ad: My literature blog: NMx
