I am writing this post on my way to work on a crisp London morning; sky is kinda grey, winter chills are creeping in. When my alarm clock went off I peeled my eyes open to see the room was still dark. Sun not up yet, but I am expected to be?!? Immediately I started feeling like I wished I could start work later…or maybe not go! I stood up and got my pilates mat out, began my morning exercise and felt fine. In fact I felt great! I felt strong, powerful, ready to face the day….and thankful for my job!!
Ha ha isn’t it incredible how feelings change? Getting showered and dressed for work I started thanking God for my job and the people I work with. I then thought about how dangerous thoughts are and how they need to be controlled or they control us. Imagine if I had stayed in bed full of self pity that I had to wake up. If I had let thoughts of “poor me” run wild. It is not necessary and that is why we need to constantly check ourselves. Every opportunity or missed opportunity starts with our mind, our perspective.
Today close the door to all those unhelpful thoughts. You can do it!
