Finding Me & 2012 blog tour

I am looking forward to the New Year and thinking about different topics I want to address on my blog in the coming year. I believe we have built a great community here with shared interest, concerns, passions and goals. I am committing my blog to the topic ‘Finding Me’. I am releasing my book which is a collection of poems and blog posts with the same title in the New Year and want to take what I have written in the book a step further. However instead of just writing on my blog I would also like to do a blog tour.

So…is there anything you want to me talk about? Be it beauty, dreams, goals, failures, leave me a message below and I would love to write a special post, just for your blog (I will not simply duplicate posts).

Let me know.

About Plantain Periodicals

Hello! Welcome to the Plantain Periodicals blogs. The name stems from the kitchen moments I had with my friends at university cooking plantain and planning our lives together. I have used this space as a window into my mind and the way I make sense of all my experiences through writing. This is where I share those conversations and moments that happen inside my head as a young woman growing up in 21st century London. Hopefully you'll be entertained and also learn a thing or two. My main blog ad: My literature blog: NMx

I think since your a artist and have a forum to reach more people than most that you should bring up the topic of equal rights for the LGBT community. You can reach more people by having a book and being an artist. We need support and help and you might be able to help educate or bring awareness to people who might not have been shown our struggle!

Finding myself has been a real struggle for me. In one had, I can’t complain: Great wife, good family, values, home, friends, etc… Yet I have become a house husband with the amazing support of my wife, the bread winner. It took me a long time to accept the role reversal, but still have the personal struggle of, “Why can’t I find my true self and or value?”. So if I had to ask for a particular subject, it would have to be, “How do you know when you receive the right answer?”. I mean more than spiritually, physically or literally. I’ve thought I’ve read the correct writing on the wall on the past, career wise, etc…, and have been met with failure.

    • Thanks for stopping by. The amazing and yet scary thing about life is that we never know if we are right or wrong. The best we can do is live passionately and (as best we can – wisely). Do not be scared to make mistakes. In everything we do there is a story and a lesson. Dont be afraid to tell them.

Life isnt about getting it right, it’s about living.

  3. i Would like to thank you for the openessyou have in your blog, Not everone is brave enough to read what i write.
So off the top you said “ask anything you’d like you to blog about.”

  4. Hi Nissi
    How about this subject:
Many people don’t know what to make of their conscience, some see it as a Medieval guilt trip, others see it as the voice of a parent, or another side of our character, while others believe it to be a God given thing.
I’ve written a blog: ‘Can we trust our conscience?’ which is written from a Christian perspective.
